The APP TOUR YOU Massive Open Online Course will be implemented with a wide participation of tourism SMEs representatives, recruited not only in the four participating countries but on the European level especially through the ENAT web portal ( and through dissemination of the European umbrella association of hotels, restaurants and cafés (HOTREC). The participation will be open, therefore the MOOC will be ready to accept worldwide trainees.

It will be organized in order to give as much as possible independence to the learners, something that is necessary since our target group are professionals with heavy workload and little flexibility in their working schedule.

The MOOC will have a length of 8 weeks, and will be divided in 4 modules. At the beginning of each module a set of material will be proposed to the trainees divided per level of analysis. On a first level videos and animations developed by the partnership will be proposed, to present challenges and main concepts of the module. On a second level relevant documents available on the web to deepen the analysis. On a third level links to existing training material will be given to add different points of view on the subject. During the two weeks preparation phase of every module the trainees will choose their pace, they will autonomously decide which material to study and will be asked to participate to the “online debate” either posting on a personal blog, or through facebook, twitter and other social media, using the #hashtags and feeds provided by the MOOC.

The project tutors will monitor the need to pick up questions and feedbacks in a “synchronical event” at the end of the two learning weeks. It will be an open “webinar” with live feedbacks from the trainees in which the tourism operators trained in the Blended Learning Course and the partnership’ experts will discuss together important issues related to the module and answer or comment to the trainees questions and ideas. Eventually tasks will be assigned to the trainees.

At the end of the MOOC, after the completion of the 4 modules, two main tasks will be asked to the trainees. The first one will be register in the PANTOU database (, the European Accessible Tourism Directory) their tourist facility, activity or service, and describe the accessibility features of their premises. The second one will be answering to a quality questionnaire to get feedbacks about the MOOC. The monitoring and evaluation of the self-learning capacity will be based on a Computer- aided Assessment approach where feedback can be geared towards student's specific mistakes. The evaluation of the self learning tool will comprise two elements:

a) the evaluation of the self-learning capability (evaluation of the learning achievements) with a computer-aided assessment approach and

b) the evaluation of the accessibility and usability of the system that it will not only depend on heuristic evaluation (experts’ review) but also on feedback received by the learners on how easy was for them to understand and use the platform. The outputs of the feedback analysis will be used by the partnership to fine-tune the MOOC.
